Island Fever Guava-Rita
Updated: Apr 28, 2020
Guavas are a fresh oval fruit grown all over the Big Island and Hawaii. The trees are invasive and most people try to eradicate them, but there are some varieties that are worth keeping and enjoying the exotic flavor. The larger yellow guava and the strawberry guava are delicious! But if we do need to take down some trees, the wood is great for our smoker!
2 shots Tequila
1 shot Triple Sec
2 shots Guava Nectar
1 shot Lemon Grass Simple Syrup (or any simple syrup)
Li Hing Mui* and sugar mixture for rimming (half powder, half sugar)
* Li Hing Mui is popular in Hawaii for its sour but salty plum-based flavor and it’s pretty red color.
Rim glass with Li Hing Mui powder and sugar. Fill margarita glass with ice. In shaker combine the remaining ingredients. Shake to combine and pour over ice. Yummy!
